State Bar of California President Speaks at Winter Graduation Ceremony

Holly J. Fujie was the graduation speaker as Concord celebrated its 12th graduation ceremony. Ninety-nine JD and 43 EJD degrees were conferred at the February 28th ceremony at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.  In her remarks, Ms. Fujie said, "I've watched the development of Concord with great interest for a while now.  This innovative and cutting-edge school is impressive, and you [graduates] are lucky to be with this institution." 

Concord Graduate Recognized for Pro Bono Work 

J. Larry David, JD S'04, has been recognized by the California Lawyer publication for his work with the Los Angeles County Bar Association Domestic Violence Project.  He has been a "steadfast" volunteer there since he was admitted to the bar in 2005.  In addition, Larry takes an average of two pro bono domestic violence cases per year which often require several court appearances and take months to resolve.

 

California Lawyer selects the "Angel Award" winners based on their reporting and nominations from nonprofit organizations throughout the state.

Alumni Site Launched  

Concord graduates now have a spot to call their own.  Alumni can form interest and social groups as well as stay better connected to each other and the law school on their new site.

 

Summer Graduation Celebrates Graduates and 10th Anniversary

Kaplan Chairman and CEO, Jonathan N. Grayer addressed Concord's summer graduating class on Saturday, August 2nd at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Fifty JD degrees and 24 EJD degrees were conferred. 
 

Graduates Admitted to US Supreme Court Bar

Larry David (04,) Michael Kaner (03,) Ross Mitchell (04,) and Sandusky Shelton (02) were the first Concord graduates to be sworn-in to the Supreme Court Bar in open court. Dean Currier moved for their admission.
