Concord’s program is an innovative blend of classroom work and directed study. We use the same course materials (casebooks and supplementary materials) and follow the same basic syllabi that one finds in a traditional program of legal education. Concord’s distinctiveness comes from the way in which students and faculty work through this material. The course of study includes asynchronous directed readings, problem sets, essays, and exercises. It also includes periodic synchronous class sessions done in the online environment. Concord’s unique and proprietary learning platform allows us to recreate the classroom experience in cyberspace. Students come to class, are asked questions, and engage in dialog with the professor and their classmates. Those who experience a Concord class almost uniformly find that it is as rich, contextual, interactive, and challenging as any class that they have attended or taught.
