Academic Support for JD Student

Concord is committed to each individual student and believes personal contact with professors, counselors, and student service administrators, trained in student services, gives students the best chance to reach their potential and achieve their goals.

Each student is assigned a Law Advisor who works in tandem with the section professor(s) to address student questions and concerns. Most students juggle work, family, and even travel schedules. The flexible nature of the Concord education allows them to integrate their law studies with their other responsibilities. Yet, there are times when students need assistance in establishing an effective study schedule or method. The Law Advisor is there to help and offer guidance.

Law Advisors also monitor the student’s module progress. The State Bar of California, as well as Concord’s academic rules, require students to complete their coursework at a specified pace. Law Advisors work with students so they continue progressing through their coursework.

Concord's policy is to proactively monitor student progress, including pace and academic achievement. If a student is having difficulty with the material, the Law Advisor may meet with the student, facilitate a professor conference, or direct the student to an academic support program.
