Welcome to Concord Law School's website. Since 1998, Concord has been the leader in the development of online law school programs that are comprehensive, challenging, accessible, and affordable.

 

With over 1000 graduates, Concord is now Concord Law School of Kaplan University. Concord had always been a member of the Kaplan family. The formal merger of Concord into Kaplan University in the fall of 2007 not only made Concord the first online law school to be part of a regionally accredited institution of higher learning, but it reflects the continuing maturation and progress of Concord's program.     Concord’s Juris Doctor (JD) program provides the unique opportunity to become a licensed attorney without many of the challenges that usually are involved in the decision to go to law school. Students at Concord take advantage of the convenience of an online learning environment and benefit from the distinctive teaching methods it brings. Learn more.
    The Executive Juris Doctor degree (EJD) program was pioneered by Concord to provide a law-based degree for those individuals who do not intend to become practicing attorneys. It is designed for individuals who are seeking an understanding of the legal system to enhance their current career, to open up employment opportunities, or for their personal growth.Learn more.

Concord is a Distance Learning Law School registered with the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California. Concord operates under the rules and guidelines established by the Committee. In her strategies for success sessions, Professor Berman deciphers legal jargon, discusses effective study and time management techniques, and gives you a jumpstart on that all important law school skill –  case briefing.

 Legal Career Website Launched 

Richard L. Hermann, author of The Lawyer’s Guide to Finding Success in Any Job Market, Concord Law School professor, and 30-year career counselor shared his tips on job-hunting and legal career management at an event at The Washington Post on November 9th sponsored by Concord and KaplanPMBR.    

Professor Hermann is also featured on a new web site- legalcareerweb.com which includes his blog, stories of Concord graduates using law degrees in various career fields, and links to career resources.

Future topics on legalcareerweb.com will include law practice areas that tend to thrive regardless of economic conditions, opportunities to use a law degree in professions outside of legal practice, how to develop a business and marketing plan for solo practice, education and expertise that may impress future employers, and basic tips on job-hunting, résumé-building and interviewing.
