Fourth year students Marjorie Daily and Tom Fleming became the first team from a fully online law school to participate in the final round of The Constance Baker Motley National Moot Court Competition held on June 20th during the American Constitution Society's 2009 Annual Convention in Washington, DC.
Sixty-five teams from 45 schools competed in the initial rounds of the competition. After the final round, Dean Currier said, "The faculty, administration, and students at Concord are extremely proud of Marjorie and Tom and their performance in this competition."
On Monday, June 22, Concord graduate Ross Mitchell (JD S 04) was sworn into the Bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He is the first online law school graduate to have won this privilege. He did so only after persuading the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, in a 6-to-1 decision, to allow him to sit for the bar exam since Massachusetts does not allow graduates of non ABA-accredited law schools to sit for their exam. He passed the exam in February.
