Concord supplementary lecturer and New York University Professor Arthur Miller delivered the graduation speech at Concord’s winter graduation ceremony at the end of February. It was a special moment for him as he was one of the first ABA professors to “sign on” to contribute to the Concord curriculum. He reflected on that when he told the assembled crowd:
“Today is a special day for you and also for me. You see, I’ve been here since the beginning. When I was first approached it seemed natural to have a program that enabled working professionals and those limited by geography to receive an education. I also believed it should be available 24/7. It was a noble experiment. And now, ten years later, you are the 13th graduating class, and this is no longer an experiment but a tradition.… As you go forward in your lives, I want you to pledge to continue the spirit of this institution--its innovation and its tenacity. Make this law school proud of you.”
Over 100 JD and EJD degrees were awarded at the ceremony at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
