Concord Law School Admissions Requirements

The Juris Doctor Program

Applicants who have earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally or DETC-accredited institution approved by the State Bar of California will be considered for admission to Concord's law programs. In addition to Concord’s admissions requirements, all applicants must also meet the statutory requirements for prelegal education required by California law and State Bar rules. In general, students must have a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average from their undergraduate work.

Concord Admissions Advisors are available to provide additional information on admissions requirements.

Concord's online admissions test is required of all applicants. Applicants who have taken the LSAT may also submit those scores. In addition, applicants must complete a telephone interview prior to admission. This interview is crucial to determining applicants’ motivation, desire to succeed, and suitability for distance learning.

Applicants who have completed their undergraduate and/or graduate study outside the United States must have their study evaluated by a credential evaluation service approved by the Committee of Bar Examiners and must demonstrate English proficiency. Such proficiency may be demonstrated by a TOEFL score of at least 620 or at least two years of college-level study completed within the United States. The law school does not provide English language services. All courses offered are taught in English only.

The Executive JDsm Program

The requirements are the same as the Juris Doctor program above, with the exception that the undergraduate institution attended does not require recognition by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California.

Transfer Students

Students who have completed law study at schools in the United States must have their legal study evaluated and certified by the Committee of Bar Examiners prior to Concord's acceptance and application of those credits into the Juris Doctor program. For the Executive JDsm program, transfer credits are subject to review by the Associate Dean of the Executive JDsm program.

Application Dates

Concord School of Law practices a “rolling admissions” policy. Candidates will be accepted throughout the academic year. First-year students may begin at one of four class start dates during the year. Upper-division students begin at one of two class starts during the year
